In the pursuit of high-end steel purity, metallurgical pure calcium wire has become an indispensable part of modern steel refining process due to its precise feeding process and efficient metallurgical reaction.

1、 Strong deoxidation to enhance the purity of molten steel

Excessive oxygen in molten steel is the main reason for the formation of harmful oxide inclusions and the reduction of product performance. Metallurgical pure calcium wire is precisely fed into the depth of molten steel through a wire feeder, and the calcium element in it quickly reacts with oxygen to generate solid calcium oxide (CaO).

These reaction products, due to their high melting point and low density, can quickly float up and enter the slag, thus being effectively removed. This process achieves deep deoxidation of molten steel, significantly reducing the number of oxide inclusions, laying a solid foundation for the production of high-purity and high mechanical performance steel grades.

2、 Efficient desulfurization improves material processability

Sulfur is a harmful element that causes the "thermal brittleness" of steel and deteriorates its toughness. The calcium in pure calcium wire can also react with sulfur to form stable calcium sulfide (CaS). This compound is insoluble in molten steel and will quickly precipitate from the steel and transfer to the slag.

By using calcium wire for deep desulfurization treatment, the sulfur content in steel can be controlled at an extremely low level, which not only significantly improves the toughness and plasticity of the steel, but also effectively prevents crack defects caused by sulfide enrichment during subsequent hot processing, greatly improving the processing performance and reliability of the steel.
